“Marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge”- (Hebrews 13:4).

Marriage in our society today does not seem to mean as much as they used to in the past. What may be the reason why women cheat in relationships?

The woman in the picture above is currently battling to save her marriage after her husband caught her red-handed in bed with her Boss.

This now brings me to question why women cheat.

Women are emotional creatures. They cry at the slightest opportunity, laugh at the least funny jokes and depend largely on the opposite sex for emotional balance.

If the reasons for men to cheat are physical, research has shown that the women indulge in cheating for emotional purposes.

It’s amazing that more married women now cheat with impunity and even brag about the caliber of men they have outside their home.

There’s a Yoruba adage that says: “ Ti obinrin ko ba ni ale, ko le ni oun ti egbe n ni( translated- a woman without a concubine cannot possess what her peers have).

The act of cheating by women has being an issue from time immemorial. But is it right in the sight of God? Is it justifiable, indeed? Is retaliation the only option to tame your man’s infidelity?

First and foremost, it is absolutely wrong in the sight of God. Adultery/fornication is said to be sin committed against oneself. This is because there are many dangers associated with adultery ranging from betrayal of the holy vow to societal condemnation and then, health hazards.

A woman who engages in extra marital affairs is not respected in the society. She will be christened over and over again with names that are unpleasant to the ears.

Such a woman will also shortchange her family time for other frivolities which will have adverse effect on the kids.

The ultimate consequence of infidelity is divorce (which is growing at an alarming rate) and in all of these, it’s the kids that suffer the most. Help spread the word!
