The All Progressives Congress (APC) official and Chairman Of The State Gubernatorial Primaries Commitee, Peter Obadan, in the early hours of Friday December 5th, 2014 declared Ex Accountant General of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode as the winner of Gubernatorial Candidate of the party for the 2015 general election.

According to the result announced, Ambode won by landslide with 3,735 out of 5,724 valid votes while Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola's anointed candidate, Olasupo Shasore polled 121 votes.

There was no doubt that the response of the people during the campaign was going to determine the outcome of the primaries election, there were all indications that Ambode right from day one was the people's favourite. This was evident in the way he won convincely.

Former Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu learnt favoured and bankroll, Ambode to clinch the ticket.

However, further findings revealed that Governor Fashola suffered a huge shock as his preferred candidate, Shasore was defeated.

Governor Fashola, we learnt in all entirety opposes the choice of Ambode, as he feels that as the occupier of the exalted seat, he should be entitled to the privilege Asiwaju enjoyed at the expiration of his tenure by also picking his own successor, in person of his former Attorney- General, Mr. Supo Shasore.

With the latest development, we learnt Gov. Fashola has fallen out with Asiwaju Tinubu over his refusal to support is own candidate.

Following the happenstance, an insider who spoke under the condition of anonymity revealed thus:

" One thing a lot of people do not know and never account for is that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a master at what happens before an election i.e planning and negotiating to win. He's a formidable political strategist who can turn the table around with a flash of genius.

He is the God father of politics in Lagos, a grassroot man and he also knows the political calculation and terrain of the south west.

It's so disheartening that Gov. Fashola could stoop so low by trying to rub shoulder with the Almighty Jagaban, who made him somebody when he was nobody.

I can assure you, with the act Gov. Fashola just displayed by trying to outsmart and compete with Asiwaju, he has no place or say no more in the APC setting after his tenure lapses. I hope he survives the axe dangling on him.

Asiwaju is a cheerful giver, he can go to any length by spending his last kobo just to achieve his game plan and this is what just played out at the just concluded APC Gubernatorial Primaries that proclaimed Ambode as winner.

Fashola is a miser, he doesnt believe in using financial strength in fighting the course he believes in and that was why his preferred candidate, Olashore lost with a ridiculous votes of 121 out of valid votes of 5,724". the source squealed

It would be recalled that Asiwaju governed Lagos State for two terms spanning eight years and was able to pass the baton effortlessly to his former Chief of Staff, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) whom also served two terms.
