When some highly revered men of God made predictions early in the year that the entertainment industry in Nigeria would experience an alarming situation of deaths, no one seems to be perturbed, but with the latest happenstance; learnt that movie practitioners have been running helter-skelter to seek God’s face for divine intervention.

It’s no longer news that versatile thespian, Muna Obiekwe died on Sunday, January 18th 2015 after long battle with protracted illness but what is new, is the shock and palpable fear the sad news has unleashed on movie practitioners.

These tragic occurrences have since gripped the industry with panic as no one knows who is next.

Asides the deaths recorded so far, a lot of others narrowly escaped fatal auto crash and have every reason to thank God for sparing their lives.

The good news however is that they have come to realize the need to seek for God’s intervention in the ongoing dilemma.

Pointers to this fact is the prayer and deliverance service the Guild plans to embark on
Before Muna breathed his last at a private hospital in Lagos, for several months he was battling in secret, a kidney related illness.

To say Muna’s death is a colossal loss to the entertainment industry is like stating the obvious. Reason being that the talented thespian contribution to the upliftment of Nollywood is unquantifiable.

But less than 24 hours after his demise, the story reaching from some members of his family and friends has it that the highly revered role interpreter died broke and heartbroken.

Findings by us revealed that while Muna was on sick bed, different Pastors, Spiritualists and Prophets were brought to proffer solution after the family has exhausted all the funds available on dialysis but his sickness demystified all efforts of these Spiritualists.

It got so bad that the family ran out of funds and called upon his friends and colleagues but alas, no one gives positive response. All they keep saying is that Muna should go public and seek for help; the suggestion we learnt he refuses vehemently being a private person.

Further digs by revealed that the suave looking actor missed his weekly dialysis that cost close to N50, 000 naira for like two weeks in a row; all because he was cash-strapped, the happenstance we learnt precipitated to his untimely death.

Although no burial arrangement has been made officially, leant that no time would be wasted in committing the deceased to the mother earth since he is fairly young.

Muna Obiekwe is survived by a wife and children.

May his gentle soul rest in peace!
