HEADIES GRADUALLY LOSING CREDIBILITY AS MOST CELEBRITIES BOYCOTTS THE AWARD SHOW + FULL LIST OF 2016 WINNERS

Today, December 22nd, 2016 the eleventh edition of the prestigious The Headies (formerly known as the Hip Hop World Awards) took place at the Eko Convention Centre Victoria Island, Lagos. The colorful event recorded a massive attendance from the Nigerian showbiz industry, as everyone that matters in the industry was at the event.

Expectedly, the event was characterized with the glitz and razzmatazz that is synonymous with a show of its class. The stars who attended the awards ceremony came with their different fashion statement, which no doubt made the event more colorful.

For everyone that got to be at the ceremony, it was a perfect way to spend the evening.

www.juicygistonline.com publisher Akinnagbe Akintomide  brought snippets of what went down there. Enjoy it.

FIRST AWARD GOES TO OLAMIDE
Shakiti Bobo crooner, Olamide won Best Street Hop’ at this year’s Headies.  The versatile artiste who is well loved by Nigerians was not present at the event to pick up his award. Some were of the opinion that he still gat beef with the organizer of Headies based on the altercation that happen between him and Don Jazzy at the last year event and that is the reason why he shunned the event.

Pretty songstress, Simi picked the award for the best vocal performance at the event.
She got the award for the song ‘Love Don’t Care’
THE REMEDIES IN THE BUILDING

MOST NIGERIAN CELEBRITIES MISSED THE SHOW

It’s so disheartening that some of the winners for the night are conspicuously missing at the event . i.e Olamide, Patoranking, Bez, Young John,Ill Bliss, Clarence Peters etc. could it be because they all perceive Headies as an award full of nepotism?

KISS DANIEL TOPS WINNERS’ LIST WITH 3 AWARDS
At this year’s edition of the Headies, talented Pop star, Kiss Daniel raked in the highest number of honors. In all categories, he won 3 awards on the night. One of the big honors won by the versatile artiste was Best Album of the year. The other awards won by the prolific song writer includes Best R n B /pop album and Hip Hop World Revelation.

Veteran Producer, Laolu Akins  made the list of winners for the night. He was honored with a Lifetime Award by the organizers of the Headies. At the colorful event, the talented producer was bestowed with a Lifetime  Award.
The award, which was highly commended by all the guests in attendance, was in recognition of his exemplary strides in the entertainment industry.

ALI BABA ATTEND THE EVENT
Highly revered comedian Ali Baba was among the VIP guests at the events
Ali Baba read the citation of Laolu Akins when he was about to be presented with the Hall of Fame Award at the ceremony.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD
Highlife crooner, Flavour was also rewarded with Hall of Fame Award. He gingered the crowd with a scintillating performance after receiving his plaque.
.

FALZ SPICES THE SHOW UP WITH COMEDY
Falz the bad guy is regarded as the hottest comedy sensation in Nigeria right now. The talented comedian was on hand to spice up the awards ceremony. He gave many rib-cracking jokes at the event, which got a lot of guests jumping off their seats.
ADESUA  ETOMI LOOKS GORGEOUS
Sexy and talented actress, Adesua Etomi was at the event. Though she is co-host for this year Headies but I must confess her presence at the event added color to it. Adesua  looked fabulously gorgeous in her sexy outfit, which got many eyes glued to her all through the event.
TOKE MAKINWA TOO
One lady most guests at the event could not help but stare at was Toke Makinwa.
The sexy damsel turned a lot of heads at the awards ceremony with her stunning look.
TO BE NOTED!
It’s so embarrassing that the awards promoted as our own Grammys is still lacking touch of professionalism. The event is not well plotted, packaged and coordinated. It lacks finesse and the ambience expected of a world class event.
